Waybill Play free

What costs money and what does not

Playing Waybill costs nothing. Money buys room: games of your own, a second railroad, and other maps. It does not buy an advantage over the railroad beside you.

What is free

  • America. Every season on the America board is free, and stays free. A free account has one place in America at a time. A railroad, an investor's place and a held reservation each use that place.
  • The Fifth Charter. A fifteen-minute game with a quick clock, so you can see the whole loop in one sitting. You can start it as a guest, with no email.
  • Everything inside a game. Stations, track, trains, shares and dividends are paid for with in-game money only. Nothing sold here gives anyone an advantage inside a game.

What you can buy

Host your own games: $20, once. You can run up to three games of your own on waybillgame.com. You pick the land, invite who you like, and set the pace. A desktop app for offline and local-network play is planned and is not out yet. It will come with this purchase when it ships.

Supporter: $4 a month, or $40 a year. While you are subscribed you get:

  • every land there is, which today is only America, so nothing extra yet;
  • two places in each land instead of one, in two different seasons, never two in the same one;
  • up to six games of your own to host.

Hosting is included with the year. On the monthly plan, hosting becomes yours after five paid months.

If you already have hosting and it is 30 days old or more when you take the annual plan, the first year is $20.

A land: $15, once. A land is a map with every scenario ever written for it, including ones written later. None is on sale yet. America is the only land today, and it is free.

Hosting and the supporter plan are bought on your Account page, and Stripe takes the payment. A land, when one goes on sale, is bought from the card of a game you cannot yet enter.

Nothing is gated behind the supporter plan beyond what is listed here. It is also a way to support the game.

Cancelling

You can cancel a subscription at any time from Manage subscription on your Account page. You keep everything you paid for until the end of the period you paid for.

A railroad you already hold stays playable after your subscription ends. The game does not check what you own again once you hold a place. Your hosting capacity drops at the end of the period, and games already running keep running until they go idle.

Our Terms promise that the price you subscribed at will not rise while you stay subscribed, and that if the price ever moves, it moves for new subscribers and not for you.

A hosted game that nobody has visited for ninety days pauses, and stops counting against your limit. Any visit wakes it up. Nothing is deleted.

Refunds

Our Terms say that if you ask within a reasonable time, you get your money back. Write to support@waybillgame.com.

A full refund removes everything that payment bought, including the hosting an annual plan includes. A partial refund takes nothing away. Hosting you earned through five paid monthly months is not taken back by refunding a single month. A refund never deletes a game, and it never affects the other players in one. Stripe can also issue a refund on its own, and that works the same way.

If you delete your account, an active subscription is cancelled at once. If that leaves paid-for time you never used, email the same address and it will be refunded.

The full wording is in the Terms, and what we keep about you is in the Privacy page.
