Terms
What you are buying, and from whom.
Who you are buying from
The seller and operator of Waybill is Gather the Family LLC, doing business as Clockwork Dragon Studios, of Medina, Ohio, USA.
Stripe is the merchant of record for anything bought on the web: Stripe takes the payment and Stripe’s name is the one on it. Your card statement will read LINK.COM* WAYBILL GAME, which is Stripe and not a stranger.
What is for sale
- Host your own worlds — $20, once. Run up to three worlds of your own on waybillgame.com: pick the land, invite who you like, set the pace, and lay out scenarios of your own. The desktop app for offline and LAN play will come with it when it ships, and local and LAN worlds on your own machine will be uncapped.
- Supporter — $4 a month, or $40 a year. While you are subscribed: every land, two railroads in each land, six hosted private worlds, a supporter’s herald, and your name in the credits. Hosting is included with the year. On the monthly, hosting is yours after five paid months. If you already host your own worlds, your first annual year is $20.
- A land — $15, once, when new lands arrive. None is on sale yet: America is the only land today, and it is free. A land will bring the land and every scenario ever authored on it, including the ones authored later.
America is free, and stays free.
The price is the same on every store we sell through. And nothing sold here gives anyone an advantage inside a world: what money buys is access and room, never an edge over the railroad beside you.
Subscriptions, and cancelling one
A subscription renews on its own until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time from the subscription portal on your Account page, and you keep everything you paid for to the end of the period you paid for.
After that: access to NEW seasons of catalogue lands ends. A railroad you have already joined stays playable until that world locks — nobody’s road is held hostage in the middle of a season. Your hosted-world capacity drops at the end of the period, and worlds already running keep running until they go idle.
The price you subscribed at never rises while you stay subscribed. If the price ever moves, it moves for new subscribers and not for you.
Refunds
Goodwill over recovery. Ask within a reasonable time and you get your money back; we would rather refund someone who is unhappy than argue with them about it.
A refund removes what it paid for — your hosting rights, a land, or the supporter perks. It never deletes a world, and it never affects the other players in one. A desktop app you have already downloaded stays yours.
Stripe may also issue a refund directly, without asking us first. That works exactly the same way.
Private worlds that go quiet
A hosted private world that no human has visited for ninety days pauses, and stops counting against your cap. Any visit wakes it up again. Nothing is deleted.
Fair play
- One account per person.
- One railroad per world per account. Two seats in a land means two different seasons, never two railroads in the same world.
- You are responsible for your account’s seat tokens. Anyone you hand one to is playing as you.
Accounts
An account needs an email address. You must be 13 or older to have one.
What we do not promise
The game is provided as is. We may change features or discontinue them. A shared world may end when its season completes — that is the design of the thing and not a fault in it.
